to supplement Snickster posting . . .
the Valve codes on the pipe spec sheet refer to Valve data sheets that provide valve specifications. For example, valve type, materials of construction for each valve component, valve bonnet/body, size, end connection type, service temp range, applicable...
no process data to work with . . .
theoretically possible with motor shafts extending from both ends of motor. 1st 2 stages at one end and 2nd 2 stage on other end using clutches.
but i doubt you will find a manufacturer or packager to build one. most likely a specialized case.
i have seen...
Agree, the elbow fitting is altered; hence, it needs to be qualified.
Yes, i have observed locations where fittings are altered, whether or not the fitting was qualified, i have no idea.
Fyi, elbolets are made for this purpose.
are blowers in parallel operation with equal resistances in piping?
if parallel operation, and pipe resistances/lengths to common outlet pipe are not the same, the motor with greater resistance may need the additional amps to overcome the increase head.
"pipeline has no gas flow. Hence pigging is planned by venting the gas at receiver end. . ."
not feeding gas into pipeline at location where pig is inserted, your method will not work as there is likely insufficient gas to expand to push pig along the pipe.
"I'm sure the pipeline companies are going to reevaluate how they secure these valve stations near populated areas."
Agree!
in early 90's, my employer did this evaluation and resulted in some locations with block walls & others with bollards. In my travels about the usa, i have seen several...
"Has anyone else encountered F316L flanges with copper content?" NO
any MTR that i reviewed and did not comply with the standard was rejected.
"Is this a known issue with certain suppliers or manufacturers, and how have others in the industry handled similar situations?" Not that I'm aware...
all you need is steam temperature, pipe size, pipe length, & pipe wall thickness to determine heat loss. personal protection is more important; hence, insulation is applied.
to supplement LI post, i'm thinking something like a cyclone separator that is mounted in boiler steam drums. this would allow the "slag" material to fall out and allow steam to vent to atmosphere. however, this cyclone separator does not have a "target" per se. the "slag" material will...
sure . . .
in a column, the tank level is the variable.
in the adjacent column, the tank heat loss is determined.
in the rows below the first tank level value, have the same formula in column for tank heat loss using the tank level in same row.
continue calc for as many rows as needed.
after spending 8+ years in operations, i joined an EPC firm and never regretted it. my fellow engrs were outstanding and competent in their field of expertise. Yes, there was a lot to learn, but that is life. i made several site visits to resolve construction and initial operating issues. I...
if there was a construction loan, the financial institution is liable. a construction loan should not be issued without the proposed survey/plot plan showing ownership. the financial institution, developer, construction company, etc. (all parties) should have obtained a proposed survey, plot...
Good observation!
i suspect this is a typo and the ASME committee should be notified.
Refer to page viii for interpretations.
fyi, I've seen this before in AGA documentation which really baffled me for a month or so before i figured what transpired.
