Why is my Worksheet.copy method failing?

There isn't anything else in the code that looks suspicious to me. I've rewritten portions of the code to insert a blank worksheet and format it appropriately. There were some issues with named cells that I've taken care of, so I think the problem as been solved. Thanks for your suggestions. Ed

Why is my Worksheet.copy method failing?

I don't think it is a memory issue. I'm wondering if it is a bug in the software. If I insert a new worksheet for each data record instead of copying a template, the program runs fine. I now have to format each sheet as it's inserted, which just takes longer to run. Thanks. Ed

Why is my Worksheet.copy method failing?

I am writing a VBA application in Excel to analize data from some testing. I have a formatted template worksheet that needs to be copied for each line of data read into the workbook. Everything works great until the 33 pass through the copy command at which point I get the error message...

    Dates as per ASME Y14.100-2004

Membership on the ASME Y14 standard committees is completely voluntary - ASME does not compensate committee members for their time, nor do they cover travel expenses. In fact, many committee members pay all of their own travel expenses to attend meetings. Membership on one of the Y14...

Hi Folks, Thanks for your comments... I'm just getting back to this problem after a couple of weeks of other things more pressing issues. pmover: the workbooks do appear in the VB Project Manager and the visible property for the sheets in the "not visible" workbooks are set to...

Can't access macros and sheets in really old Excel files

I am working with a collection of Excel files that are about 15 years old - Mac version 3.4 or something. The files appear to have macros and hidden sheets in them and they are linked to one another by cell formulas. (A master sheet in one file is visible and has cell formulas showing links to...

Please give me some advice as FE exam is approaching

When recording your responses on the answer sheet, make sure you fill in the circle in the right row. A skipped question opens the opportunity for you to place subsequent answers in the wrong spot. When guessing, use the same answer each time unless you can eliminate some of the choices. You can...

    Titles: Engineer vs. Designer

I have a PE in Pennsylvania. If I go to a party in Ohio where I am not licensed, am I still an engineer? I think it's okay for people to be called an "engineer" if they do engineering work for their company. As long as they do not advertise to the public to perform engineering work for a fee...

    PE for Engineering Professors

Maui: I'm at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. Jenn454: You said it was easier to teach yourself... The main goal of a college education is to learn how to learn. It sounds like you are a success story. In my experience, my PE gives me the opportunity to routinely work on a variety of...

    PE for Engineering Professors

Maui, I think technical competence and industrial experience in their teaching area is the number one criteria. A variety of experience is better than very specialized experience. It is helpful if the candidate has prior teaching experience. (Many of our most recent hires are former adjunct...

    What should new engineers know?

Thanks for your comments MechEng13... all of our students must complete a year-long industrial capstone project or a substantial internship. I think I'd like to see all students do both. Co-Op programs have some advantages as well... Ed

    PE for Engineering Professors

Our MET program is part of a large university... our requirements for faculty are based on TAC/ABET minimum requirements. To my knowledge, most community colleges are not accredited by ABET - it's too expensive. We get some capable students who transfer into our program from community...

    PE for Engineering Professors

Engineering faculty absolutely should have real world engineering experience before teaching. It is not enough to know just the theory of a subject. A good teacher has to discuss the application of the material as well. I teach full-time in a mechanical engineering technology program. 40% of...

    Is this a good idea

ME82, As an engineering educator for the last 15 years, I have seen a lot of people try to work full time and take a full course load. I can only think of 1 very exceptionalstudent who was able to do it. His work was in manufacturing which helped a bit. Most people who try to do both on a...

    What should new engineers know?

Five-year programs - I don't think they are generally a good idea. We will never be able to teach every engineer everything they will need to know... we have to draw the line somewhere. As I hear it, enrollments in engineering programs are down nationally. Adding a required fifth year will...

    What should new engineers know?

Ctopher, I'm not real clear on what you mean by "I believe it is time for engineering schools to catch up with the real world. Also schools in general. Times have changed." Accredited programs (engineering and engineering technology) do not exist in a vacuum. ABET has established 11 key...
