Although this would be time intensive with a lot of data entry: add a parameter to each part for where used before renaming/copying. If you are going this route I would also add it to your start part so you have the spot for new designs.
I use a different method when wanting to make a bolt circle type dimensioning scheme.
I start by making a sketch for locations of the holes for the extrude function. On the sketch I will use a circle to start for the BCD and right click to change it to a construction circle. Then add the...
I'm an amateur, so I'd wait for some of the Pro's here to help, but here is some information that may help.
ptc website is sometimes hard to find answers unless you know where to look. You want to search the knowledge base under the Support tab on the top. I did a search with just the word...
If you can't change the units, another way would be to create a relation that equals a new parameter for the weight in Tonne inside each part. Add that new parameter in the repeat region for the mass.
If it an already existing drawing, you can select all the dimensions at once (use ctrl key) and right click for properties. Change the decimal place number accordingly. *** I'm not sure if this still works in WF3. Please let us know.
Center Lines & Center Marks are one in the same for ProE. At times, you will need to create an axis on the model for features such as slots so they will show a center line in your drawing.
On another note from your previous post, you should be showing your dimensions instead of creating them...
I had run into something similar when making a program for ProE. I don't have the program available because it is at a former employer, but I'll tell you what I remember.
I wrote the program to compare both the floor and ceiling values. If the difference between the original value and the...
Thanks for the info.
I'm using Wildfire 2.0 and all I have to work with are the iges files.
I've tried to "Edit Definition" on the import feature and it gives me the message when I try to manipulate the surfaces: Surface manipulation is not available for selected surface.
There was something...
I've done some searching and what my ProE Guru tells me is that if the model is exported as a wireframe, I'll only be able to import as a wireframe.
I could add surfaces to make the part solid, but in this case it will be easier for me to just recreate the part in sheetmetal.
I've seen it too.
My previous employer made power screws and sometimes oscillators. I would form the trajectory just short of 360 degrees, ie less 1 degree on each side of the ending datum plane. After making the cut on the trajectory, I would create a cut on that datum plane referencing the...
I have some IGE files from a customer to add to my assembly.
I've tried two different methods of importing:
1. use the open tab and open the iges file
2. use my start part and import it in
Using both methods, the part comes in as a wireframe and shades fine in model mode, but when I bring it...
that's a tough one since the repeat region can't decipher which dimension to show and not to....
maybe one way to trick it is to make a parameter equal to the dimension in each part and have the repeat region show only that parameter. Problem would be if you had multiple dimensions in each...
Usually an CAD admin will make a config.pro that will point at a prodetail.dtl that a company will use. If your not the admin, ask the admin if you can modify your local config.pro or prodetail.dtl file before doing anything. If you modify the prodetail.dtl that you admin created, you will be...
