    Clarke Transformation

Hi I am reading into the Clarke transformation that is used to convert the 3 phase stator currents into a two dimensional orthogonal system for field oriented control of ac motors. The equations are shown below. isα = ia isβ = (1/√3)*ia + (2/√3)*ib I cannot find any literature that shows how...

    Control Transformer Help

Hello I am building a control cabinet that is destined for Austria. In this cabinet are various devices that will accept input power from 85vac to 260vac 50/60Hz. I am going to install a 400:230 single phase transformer to power these devices. The size will be around 1 to 1.5 kva. I also...

    Drive Emergency Stop

As long as you stop the VFD from driving the motor before the contactor drops out the drive should be fine. Most drives should have an enable input which could be de-energized before the contactor disconnects the motor.

    Indexing Conveyor Question

Skogsgurra I appreciate your feedback. I found this forum after my original posting and thought is was more appropriate for my question. I will not "double post" in the future. Martin

    Conveyor indexing question

What you say makes sense.I have verified that as long as the tube is within the profile the upstream machine should be able to process the tube. This means that I will locate the profile with an appropraite sensor. I will connect the sensor directly to the drive to reduce the latency since I...

    Indexing Conveyor Question

Hello, I have an application that involves two short (10 feet), and parallel (2 feet apart) indexing conveyors that are mechanically linked through shafts and at either end. Each conveyor is made from matching timing belts and timing pulleys. The conveyor is used to transport sections of...

    Conveyor indexing question

Hi Keith Yes, the tubes are always the same size. Same OD, ID and length. The "profiles" that are on the conveyor are the mechanical devices that secure the tube to the timing belt. Timing belt manufacturers always refer to these things as profiles Thanks

Holding Torque with a VFD and AC Induction Motor

I am not sure of the required holding torque at this time since it is early on in the design. I was mainly curiuos about using VFD's and 3ph induction motors in a point to point motion application. I have read alot of correspondance regarding the similarities/differences of servos systems and...
