Hello,
I am using substructuring technique in ANSYS for thermo simulation of a large model of a chip and I would like to know is it possible to view the nodal solution of the whole structure at once when all the steps of substructuring are finished? May be someone knows how to do it? I would be...
Thank you very much Alex for the helpful answer.
Do you know, is it possible to view the nodal solution of the whole structure at once when all the steps of substructuring are finished?
I can see the solution (influenced by the model) for each single superelement separately after the...
Hello,
In order to perform steady state thermal analysis of a large model of a chip I am using substructuring (bottom - up) technique in ANSYS.
But I encountered the following problem:
for substructuring I should have the interface nodes of the superelements (master DOF) at the location of...
Thank you ansysfreak and cbrn for your answers.
Yes, cbrn, you are right, I need to obtain a "broke-line" section formed by several planes. Now I know, from your answer, that, unfortunately, it is not possible in ANSYS.

Hello,
There is a need to visualize the nodal solution (temperature) in the cross section formed by several working planes.
If anyone know how to perform this I will be very grateful to you for any help.
Thank you very much.

Hi,
Thank you Garry for your answer.
By "Not" you meant that it is possible to stop ANSYS "seeing" the previous meshes only if I use contact elements between the volumes or the result for each block will be influenced by the results calculated for the adjacent blocks only if I use contact...
I cannot sweep the volumes since they are not homogeneous and their meshes are interdependent.
There are three volumes in each block: the one on the top, the one at the bottom connected with the upper one and the one inside of one of them which is very thin. All of them are glued therefore...
Thank you very cbrn for your answer.
I am sorry but I did not understand what "pitch" in LESIZE is. What did you mean by "pitch"?
(I use SOLID90 element for the mesh and apply LESIZE in order to define the number of elements for all the lines belonging to a volume.)
Anyway, the thing I am...
Hello,
I am performing a thermal simulation of a microchip model. The model was splitted into many simple blocks by vsbw command in order to simplify the meshing process. Each block consists of maximum 3 volumes.
With the meshing of an each following block it becomes much more difficult to...
Hello,
I am performing thermal analysis of a simple chip 3D structure. The geometry of the structure includes several volumes which are located one above another. There are also two very thin volumes located inside one of the big volumes. These thin volumes represent heat sourses. In addition...
Thank you very much cbrn for your help.
I tried to surround the thin volumes with another volumes which all together form the initialy desired bigger volume. Then step by step I meshed each of these small volumes. However, it takes really a lot of time and therefore it is not always suitable...
I am trying to implement thermal simulation of a simplified model of a microchip. The geometry of the chip includes very thin volumes (their thickness is small in comparison with their length and width) which represent depletion regions of transistors, i.e. the heat sources. These volumes are...
