It is probably the parent of mirrored or copied geometry. You will have to make the section independent or delete the mirrored/copied child (if you want it to still be dependent.)

Material plays a role in the strength too. Another variable is how the flow fronts meet (what angle).
You mentioned ABC/PC blend. I do know that straight PC has fairly poor weld line strength. Especially if it is a butt weld (head on flow fronts).

If you want to send 3d stuff, you can download eDrawings. They have a free publisher that sends the basic info. You can get the pro version and it will allow them to take measurements, x-sections, mass props, and do comments.
For just basic 2d screen shots, we use Snag-IT. It is easy and...
A lot of radiator end tanks are molded this way. The companies designing and building these tools generally have a large database built up over the years that they use to determine the correct amount of windage to put in the mold. In theory, you could use some of the output from a warpage...
Could try multiple surfaces (oriented as needed to correspond with the photos) and then you could "hide/show" the surfaces you needed to work with. You may want to take the images into photoshop and warp them a bit to try to remove some of the perspective.
Another thing that I've done in the...
We use a similar technique to eholmes except that we use a skeleton model and the assembly. Here is our basic technique (also requires AA extention):
1. Create assembly for "product_asm"
2. Add skeleton model "product_asm_skel"
3. Create geometry for housing, critical feature locations...
Can you shrinkwrap the assembly? If it isn't a big assembly, how about creating a dummy part, add that to the assembly and use merge to copy all the parts into the dummy part?

If you can get a sketch plane that works, you could possbly do a draft offset if you just want to thicken a region. If you are looking to make a quilt that is offset from a group of surfaces on a solid then you have to do the surf-copy / edit, offset method. Yes it does leave the original...
I would do some testing, but some nylons and acetals have similar Coefficient of Friction. They also have decent impact. The nylon would have good wear resistance, but I tend to doubt that it would be as good as the UHMWPE.
good luck

We just had a new machine built and got a P4 3.4, 2GB RAM, SATA drives, etc. We got a Quadro graphics card for it (I don't remeber the specific model). For processor, I would be looking at the new Intel processors, they have been benchmarking very well. Graphics cards: At our firm, we have...
Are the parts seeing much thermal cycling? Instead of helicoils, why not use a thermal or mechanically installed brass insert? They would probably work a bit better than threading a helicoil into the noryl.

1. Create the text on the surface using the "Edit", "Wrap" feature. Works like projecting, but when you create the section, you have to add a coordinate system in the section (sketch, coordinate sys). The system projects the coordinate system onto the part and then "wraps" or "forms" the...
