I recommend you take a look at NFPA 79. It is the standard used to Electrical requirments of Machinery.

A little late but I've been on the road.
ISO 17025 is the standard used to provide accreditation to laboratories and Panel shops. The format allows the Third Party to assess the quality program in place. A report is developed from ISO 17025 to assess the company requesting accreditation. When...
The accreditation is to standard UL 508A. Several companies provide this approval. Search OSHA web site for NRTL and it will list all Agencies that can provide the UL 508A acccreditation.

I agree with buzzp, he's stated it perfectly.
Keep in mind UL is an NRTL, there are several NRTLs in the US. Go to OSHA web site and search NRTL and optional companies will be listed (if your having a problem with UL).

I'm interested in locating a manufacture who designs a dry steam system. The unit needs to be compact and mount in a automated system. It will require 6 Nozzels and the steam must reach a distance of 6 inches at a temperature of 200 degrees F on the application surface. Is this possible or is...
abbver98, if Mike has a Pressure Vessel I'm sure you are correct. However those requirements are strictly for PED and donot apply to other products. There are at least 19 Directives that fall under New Approach Directives list. PED is only 1 of the 19. Every Directive is different and aeach has...
I have this cross reference, I'm not sure of the accuracy, I've seen some discrepancies in the interpertation. However if you would like a copy of what I have please contact me I will scan and e-mail it to you or fax it if that is better.
Another place to check would be Hoffmans catalog, there...
ther are different types of audio standards that might apply, I'm not sure if telecom must be considered. If you are interested and would like me to research the information please contact me directly.

I beleive the manufacture will provide some type of rating for vacuum pressure. I think the best thing to do is call them and get their rating information or suggestions for appropriate valves.

Mike, I agree with Fawkes and Buzzp. The point of CE marking your product is to be able to prove you conform. I wouldn't wait to long to buid a table of context on where the proper documentation can be found. You know how priorities are, before you know there are 5 other things to be done and...
I agree with CurtB, it depends on what type of product and Directive you fall under. Only the Directives that require a Notified Body license/certificate are required to have a copy of the Technical File on EU soil. Normally the Notified Body keeps a copy of the file, this is sufficient for EU...
If the enduser changes devices on you without your approval or does not have you update your TCF it violates your D of C and your company is not responsible.
The ponit of listing you critical components is to support your Declaration of Conformance for the system for CE Certification or...
I'm not sure I will look further into it but consider this. If the insurance company will not cover it, it seems like this can fall back on the city who issued permit. They new the handrails were not in compliance and they still allowed occupancy after how long ? I would start talking with a...
I'm currently looking at some industrial machinery going to Europe. It uses gas such as oxygen and others for a heating process. Is there a standard that specifies color codes for connections of the pipes and fittings so that confusion does not arise with flexible piping connections ...
I think this is more of a standard issue and not NEC. The requiremnts is that all fluids be located in a separate enclosure away from electrical componets (AC or DC). The exception is that if an electrical device is directly a part of the Valve, solenoid or regulator controlling the Fluid it is...
I don't think your using the wrong standard, I think you have to use EN 60204-1 additionaly. Based on your initial description of the product, you probably should have been using it all along. Keep in mind it's not wrong to say you meet the requirements of both standards. Consider your final...
Can anyone give me some information on a Plumbing code issue ?
I have a Cheif plumbing inspector who's stopping 170 + Jacuzzis from being installed. The Jacuzzies come from Israel and it sounds like there are some code issues because the tubs do not carry NFS approval.
Does anyone know a short...
sparkyonline, glad the info is useful !
I just wanted to clear something up you mentioned (yes this is a competitor speaking out). There is no such thing as third party accreditation for agencies to perform CE marking. CE Marking is as you know a Self Declaration and it is helpful to have an...
I beleive that there is harmoniztion of color codes based on EN 60204-1 clause 14.2 - 14.2.4, it reviews specific requirements for use of colors. It also allows for the use of numerical or alphanumerical identification. I realize that you are probably using EN 61010 but depending on the type of...
