    Are pins advanced or returned?

I couldn't agree more, I was recently working on a program on a small clip-fitting machine, and also found that the guard locking shotbolts were referred to in the I/O list as out (but this was the locked position) and in (which was the unlocked position), confused hell out of me as I only...

    Tool changer's mechanical interface connectors?

Harting make electrical/pnuematic modue connectors, typically we use (i believe) HAN24 size, this gives 8 modules width including polarised locating pins. Modules available include 3 way pneumatic, 16 pole signal, 3 pole power (quite high currrent rating). Not sure if these are any use for...

    long distance air lines

The response from Freedesigner is very feasible, is it possible to place a small reciever close to the valve, we have used a design similar to this to blast dust out of filter medium, the reciever is only small (approx 10" * 4" dia) and provides a reasonably good reserve of air...

    Heating of Threaded inserts

Hi ILJS This is probably a stupid idea but assuming you are intending to use a normal bowlfeeder to provide inserts to the robot would it be possible to install small cartridge heaters in the feeder escapement and track? As normally bowlfeeders are made from ali, could you install heating in...

    Siemens S7-224 EEPROM (retentive ?)

Thanks Guys, All I wanted to do was retain certain default timer values that are held in VWORDS that are normally adjusted on a TD200 but i had to put an option for entering default values automatically as someone is bound to fiddle and I have used around 40 timers. Set the retentive range in...

    laptop for interfacing various plcs

Personally I use a Sony Vaio PCG-FX701, due to software issues i am running windows 98 (on an Athlon 1400, although only 16 colours) but this can be configured as dual boot with XP. It comes in very handy as it has RS232, ethernet and an internal modem [b] Best of luck [b] Tom ;)

    Siemens S7-224 EEPROM (retentive ?)

If I were to fit an EEPROM to a S7 plc, how can i make my program extract vwords from the eeprom and write them to it? All i want to do is recall/write values set on a TD200 but will this actually achieve anything or is there another way of making the PLC retain the contents of certain vwords...

Interference on T/C inputs to PLC

Have you got any inverter drives in close proximity to the PLC/thermocouples, i had a problem once where the interference could not be eliminated from the PLC/thermocouple, i fitted ferrite rings to the motor supply instead, this seemed to cure the problem

Hi there, I don't know if anyone is familiar with Negri Bossi injection moulding machines, if so then maybe you can help me with the following question. Where can I pick up a 24V signal to drive a relay when the press is on semi-automatic, i already know that i can use the euromap socket for...

Finding electrical signal on Negri Bossi press

I don't know whether this question is fitting for this category but here goes... I am currently connecting a gas injection unit to a Negri Bossi NB720 with Dimi EL control, as i do not want to waste gas I have decided to connect three relays, one of which will be from the injection solenoid...

    Krauss Maffei probs.

Found it in the end! Apparently the press is old and had some form of drawbridge that drops when the gate opens, this had been removed and i found a short on the limitswitches which had been stuffed under the press

    Krauss Maffei probs.

Does anyone know what the alarm "Swivelled running board" might be, the machine in question is a Krauss Maffei 27000 kN MC3, the only thing i can think of is barrel swing, but the option is not fitted to the press, the alarms description page is blank and this fault is driving me mad...
