Error 1606 Could not access network location....

Thank you all but I have resolved my own problem. As suspected it was due to me having my "users" on my D: hard drive. The workaround was to create a public folder as in C:\Users\Public\Documents So, the installation then creates C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\AutoCAD Architecture 2014 -...

Error 1606 Could not access network location....

I wonder if anyone can help with this problem. Doing a Google search brings up lots of instances but no solutions. I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and would like to install my AutoCad 14 on that system. However.. I get error messages which if ignored the installation proceeds but does...

Weld prep design for SS pipe of different thickness.. and..

Thank you racookepe1978 Definitely something that would "help" with my alignment.. both angular and radial.

Weld prep design for SS pipe of different thickness.. and..

Thanks Tmoose Yes.. I agree with your "I think they are doomed. Maybe they are trying to limit the amount of balance corrections that will be required. ". I am not sure about this being a "First". Given the drawings I have seen so far this is several steps before a "first". At the moment (to...

Weld prep design for SS pipe of different thickness.. and..

Thanks to both.. Spacers / shims are what I had in mind as well... but with SS I suspect the shrinkage will crush the spacers to some degree, be a bugger to remove and still cause my assembly to bend. Can't be helped.. but perhaps it will keep me in the ball park. racookpe1978.. can you tell me...

Weld prep design for SS pipe of different thickness.. and..

I have been asked to design a weld prep for a 13" OD pipe with a wall thickness of 5/8 316 SS to a tapered transition piece that has a wall thickness of 3/4", is 36" long and tapers to ~11". So, no problem with a traditional "vee" weld prep, taper the inside to suit the larger ID. But.. with SS...

Confused about "Save As Copy" in parts and drawings

Wow.. Thanks to all those that replied. I now have a number of things to try and see what I can make work. My example of "adding a hole" was generic. What brought this to a problem was the shop makes a split collar, bolted together that aligns two shafts. The sizes of the shafts vary so I am...

Confused about "Save As Copy" in parts and drawings

I am confused on the Save as Copy and hope someone can set me straight. I have a part and make a drawing of it. The shop is happy but wants an additional version as well (add another hole..). So I open my part, Save As > Save as copy and open. All is well, my original stays and I make my...

Looking for help with the lookup function.

Thank you, I will play with that and see if it works better for me. Now that I know where I was going wrong with HLOOkUP I think I have most of my problem solved.

Looking for help with the lookup function.

I am having trouble with the lookup function and hope someone can help me. A simplified Excel 207 spreadsheet: red blue green yellow purple orange mauve pink black 150 200 250 300 350 400 450 500 550 Input cell(A3) Result cell B3 299.9 =LOOKUP(A3,A2:I2,A1:I1) returns green. 300 to...

Calculate dimensions of a chord for a given weight? Possible?

Thanks.. I suspected as much. Using equations and global variables is way ... WAY.. beyond my abilities. I plan to resolve my problem by making a lot of different depths and making a spreadsheet to find sizes in relation to weight.

Calculate dimensions of a chord for a given weight? Possible?

Hello / help[bigsmile] I have a large cast steel disk, ~44" diameter flat on one side, ~1.375" wide at rim and tapered to ~5" wide on the other side. I need to balance this, and do so by machining a segment off the periphery. Calculating the depth and / or length of chord to match the weight...

    How to create an "add-in"

Thanks.. but it does not show in SW as being available.. and the CAD tab is greyed out in GearTeq. I have a help request in to Camnetics..

    How to create an "add-in"

Can someone tell me how to add GearTec 2013 from Camnetics to Solidworks 2014 as an "Add in".. is it possible? Thank you for your time.

Add or subtract polar degrees in Excel

Sorry for all the confusion. I was making a spreadsheet that would do all kinds of calculations pertaining to balancing. Calculate various tolerances, force generated by a known unbalance, combine weights to a single location, divide a given weight into two components. And some other trivia. The...

Add or subtract polar degrees in Excel

Thank you racookpe The solution that MintJulep (Mechanical) gave me is doing exactly what I wanted. =MIN(MOD(A1-A2,360), 360-MOD(A1-A2,360))
