I have some images of company logos that I need to make into a DXF to burn on laser. I have been importing a JPEG then just clicking around it with a spline. Is there a better program to run the images thru first? has anyone used a digital pen for tracing?
This is not something my company...
Sorry I didn't ask that right. I want the measure in model or assembly to display like that. I know how to input it in sketch or constraint (however that is good info to show people), i don't know how to how to get it to display it when you use the "measure distance," "measure loop," or...
In the measure distance box of a model, is there a way to get the value to display feet and inches. I know you can do this in a drawing, but I cant make it happen in a model.
example value: 39 1/2"
I want: 3' 3-1/2"
or: 3ft 3.5in
I can get: 39.5in
I can get: 3.25ft...
Depending on what version of inventor you use the directions could change but with 2013 and several before you can directly export DXFs.
In your browser window (the one with your work features and work planes, origins ect by default on left side of screen). There should be a "folded model...
You can do it in inventor but if you open the folder with all the drawings, highlight the ones you want to print, right click and say print it will print all the files.
I use this method alot on individual piece parts. I only have experience do this with several 1 page prints all sheet size...
We currently have 65 gigs of parts and prints 13.7 gigs of that is old versions.
We have a second location that cannot remote access our server so we are looking at a cloud style folder syncing. This would allow the other factory to see files but have no ability to delete or change any of our...
I can't find any information about controlling the location of the old versions folder. For several reasons I would like to dump all oldversions into a single folder. We constantly create new folders and sub folders for projects and at the same time constantly create oldversion folders.
I...
Thanks for the help the asterisk works, but also finds the old version files (not a big deal). Replacing the dash with a space only returns the current files. That doesnt make any sense to me, but i can again find files on our server.
However, if anyone else is having this problem there are a...
Sorry if that has been addressed, maybe I am the only one that cant figure out search funtions.
I am running Inventor2009 and windows vista (and will be upgrading to windows 7 shortly), but the search function will not find files on the server. XP has no problem with the location of these...
Does the .newver there while the assembly is being saved? Is there an error during the save and file fails to save then the files are created with .newver?
If it is created during a save wait and it will go away after the file is completely saved.
If it actually creates the file (and that...
I am exporting a parts only BOM to excel with inventor 2009. Everything exports fine and shows up the way it does when viewed in inventor.
When opened in excel it rearranges the order of the parts, but is fine since i started renumbering the parts 001 on and can easily sort back into order...
Are both LH and RH drilled independent of each other or are they both put into a weldment then drilled to become handed. Say "Part 1" is the unhanded piece you can drop it into an assembly then do the machining op and create Part 1 LH and do it again with opposite hole patter to create Part 1...
Does anyone know where i might get a model of a human body. I would like a model to slap into assemblies to get a better idea of line of sight, reach, and other things I may have to design around. I know ASME has standards this stuff but somthing physical would be nice.
This seems like...
I used Inventor 10 to model a folk lift carriage. I then derive the part into one solid lump so that I can fill gaps and simulate weld. This way everything is meshed together and there are no unseen gaps to really throw off the analysis. I then send it to another engineer who uses cosmos 2007...
The hidden lines are because the part is reference, and turning them back to normal will fix the problem. However, you can keep the parts as ref and keep your BOM straight or to keep your weight and CoG correct(ref parts are weightless unless made flexible). Click on the view in the IDW and...
Thanks that is what i needed to know. I now have the SolidWorks file and can open it myself to convert it. Is there any options i need to use when converting to a STEP file, or just save as .stp. The files I am dealing with are engines and transmissions. I dont really care about part names...
I deal with alot of IGES and STEP files. However I have started getting models that open only as construction surfaces and wire bodies. I am using Inventor 10 with all the service packs. Am i not checking the proper options when opening the files, are they not converting them right, or could...
