The zero of the ordinate becomes your datum so the basic is the distance between the zero and the ordinate you are attaching the position to.
Anyway instead of discussing if what he is doing is right there should be some sort of work around for properly place a GDT on an ordinate dim.
Do you...
JMirisola, I agree with you. The SW BOM needs to drive what changes are done on the MRP BOM. In a perfect world they would be linked. Some Engrs just make the change to the SW BOM and expect MFG to change MRP boms or some people do both at the same time. None the less there are usually 2...
GDT does not always indicate feature size.
True position is a GDT that indicates position not feature size.
Thus it would be attached to a dimension and not a feature.
ERP or MRP system usually drives the BOM, with SW BOM a secondary device. You can get fancy and get PDM system that also manages BOM's and takes the input from the SW assy to create the BOM's.
GDT gets added to dims all the time. true position of holes is on the dim, parallel and perpendicularity of bores threads etc all to dims.
yes there are quite a few that are done to features as well.
both are widely used
smcadman,
What do you use for data/config management? Sounds like it's nice to be able to print at once but it must be a nightmare to control revisions and upload a big file everytime 1 part changed.
You will have to change the plane on each sketch that is related to the Front, top, or Right planes.
Go to your first feature, expand the feature dialog (+) , when you see the sketch right click and select edit sketch plane. Choose a new plane. You may see errors if any other sketches were...
yes I installed the xp32 version and I was wondering if anyone has done the same and loaded a SP higher than sp0?
unfortunately my company has not yet upgraded to 2008 so I can't upgrade due to compatability issues.
I was able to get 2007 installed and working on windows vista home premium but I can't load any service packs. I've tried loading SP0 to SP5, 0 to 4.0, I heard that 2.2 might work so I'm trying to find that. Also I've read some other threads that mention a compatability mode.
I'm not sure...
