Not sure if this problem was solved but I had a similar problem earlier today. Running NX9 with Excel 2013. The issue was on the excel side, essentially the UG add in became disabled. This was fixed through excel file=>options=>add ins=>manage ad ins=> enable UG
Part of our normal workflow is to export the assembly navigator to excel, and provide the information to our procurement department for purchasing purposes. We are running NX9 native (although somewhat managed by Windchill FWIW).
The output is a spreadsheet that contains attributes like...
I am thinking reference sets would work well in this situation (each part has an "as cut" and a "post welded" reference set). As for the "stock" size showing up on the parts list, I would look at adding an attribute called "stock size" to each part and show that in a column on your assembly...
Up until recently we were running NX8 with Teamcenter integration. Unfortunately our company decided to migrate our data and move to Native NX with file based document management system.
When we were running TC managed NX8 I had the option of setting a component as "reference". This would do...
In the last few days, two different users on two different assemblies received the attached error. We are running NX 8.0 with TC integration. The error seemed odd as we are at rev NX003. Any thoughts as to what the problem or fix could be?
We have a machine with a rather high center of gravity basically sitting on 4 tall legs. I seem to recall some safety guildlines or industry standards that provided guildlines for safe center of gravity height vs footprint ratios but cannot seem to put my hands on that document. Can someone...
I am certainly no expert but can offer a few suggestions. We design machines and re-use sub-assemblies all the time. Typically in the sub we will save a few generic arrangements. If those arrangements are suitable for the top level, great we use them. However, in many cases, the generic...
We had a similar issue here. We chose not to add groups of fasteners for a variety of reasons. Our solution was as follows: The first thing we did was set up a re-use library with common hardware. This allowed us to find the parts quickly. The hardware was all saved with remembered...
Today we upgraded to NX 8.0 from 7.5 (after a great what's new presentation from John). In 7.5 I had a toolbar that contained the "pack all" command. Cannot seem to find the toolbar that contains this. Any ideas?
Anthony,
Attached is the stamped part. I understand your workflow but am stuck on the last part (use the underside of the part to trim away the block). What tools / workflow would I use to do this?
John,
Good info. This is outside of what I normally do (hence all the questions regarding the...
Still running NX 7.5 with TC integration and came across a problem tring to make a nest for a stamped part. Basically, I would like to extrude a pocket into the lower rectangular block such that the bottom of the pocket has the profile of the stamped part. Is this possible with NX and if so...
Just a follow up,
We sent the database to GTEC for them to take a look at. There were able to replicate the problem in 7.5
According to GTEC we should NOT need to go though the extra work around of selecting the part every time we want to insert a view of a different arrangement. All of the...
John,
I spoke with my MCAD group who is also in touch with GTAC. The work around I decribed is not the recomended fix as it somehow violates the whole master model approach. With that said, nobody understands why I cannot see the new arrangements in the dropdown list.. I come back with...
John,
I did not have to go through the extra step of selecting the assembly file a month ago. The extra steps only come into play when I revise the assembly model with additional arragements. Is this the normal workflow?
I am curious if eanyone else has the same behaviour as decribed above?
I have been poking around and stumbled across a workaround.
In the dialog box for inserting view, under "select part"... If you open and navigate to the assembly (and select the assembly) all of the arrangement appear in...
Just closed and re-opened with partial loading turned off this time (I assume that is what is meant by fully loaded). Original problem is still present...
