How come noone has mentioned that in Pro/E Wildfire there is no option BUT Intent Manager.
I don't work for PTC or sell the software, but I do know that test scores for new users learning Wildfire are much better than any previous version.

Nope. There's no way to create a parametric relation to the Sketched Text. It's just dumb geometry.
Submit an enhancement request and PTC may take a look at it some day.

If you're on 2001 you should be OK with the following:
Create a new part
Create an extruded protrusion
In the sketch, pick, Sketch, Data from File
Select the .dwg file
Rotate, scale and place as approriate
Delete off any unwanted sections to get the sketch to regenerate
Complete the feature...
If you're all using the same config.pro it seems strange that it's slow on this one box. It does sound like a config.pro issue.
Try these:
1) remove graphics open_gl, the graphics option hasn't been needed since release 17.
2) remove stale search paths, or remove all of them to a search.pro file...
If you start a new session to do the basics of what you want you can then call the trail file in your mapkey.
BE VERY CAREFUL WITH IT - trail files that go out of sequence due to you starting at a different point will cause Pro/E to crash.
