Rolled part to sheet metal issue

Thanks Mike, thanks Felix! Finally I managed to solve it, but had to do it the brute force way. After creating the cylinder I made tiny sections of the cylinder flat (sections where I needed the flanges). These flat sections were OK to create base flange-tab features. The final product model...

Rolled part to sheet metal issue

I wasn't precise enough. Converting to sheet metal is OK, as making cuts works well too. My problems come when I try to make flanges onto curved surfaces (the two ends of the rectangular cuts). At first I tried to cut the contours of the flanges in the rolled state of the sheet. Than I wanted...

Rolled part to sheet metal issue

I try to convert to sheet metal something similar to the attached picture, but had no luck with it yet. I have no idea about what method shall I use. I'd say something around "sketched bend" might do the trick, but playing with the parameters did not give any solution. I start to wonder if it is...

remote management of 3D CAD workstation

Around 3-5 fps is the rate what I managed to achieve so far.

remote management of 3D CAD workstation

Thank you, great link! I read other forums, and read positive feedback about this program. Definitely worth a try.

remote management of 3D CAD workstation

We have no problem with Powerpoint, runs like a charm via remote management. But as Mike pointed out, 3D CAD use requires computing power. I'll test it between two workstations. I think the solution will be installing a decent 3D card to the machine from witch I try to manage the CAD workstation.

remote management of 3D CAD workstation

Does anyone have experience with the use of VNC or similar remote management software for accessing 3D CAD workstations? My problem is that the client machine (the manager) has an integrated video card, and the host machine (3D workstation) has a Quadro card. The 3D models' rotation is so slow...

Part analysis - create/display load transfer surfaces

I analyse a machine frame in Cosmos. Smaller parts are welded onto the main frame in the frame assy. I'd like to analyse the main beam as a part. The forces are transfered through welds, and if I open the main beam as a standalone part, the areas where the forces work are obviously not visible...

Software to cut large drawing files to small (e.g. A4 sized) parts.

Please advice a software to cut large drawing files into smaller parts, what I can print on a smaller device and stick them together later to get the original sized drawing. I have a 2000x300mm dwg to print, but the max size I can print is A1, no paper roll is attached to my plotter. I know, it...

    Website update

Maybe it's my browser, but some pictures (e.g. the jet fighter) seems to have a bad link. The big LEGO thing is cool. [thumbsup2]

Section view û hole/shaft thread overlap

Reached the same conclusion myself. Thanks for the posts.

Section view û hole/shaft thread overlap

The thread is over hole wizard size. I'd rather try to fix the drawing itself, keeping the models intact. I tried to modify the drawing view, but the hatch seems to be unified, no possibility to erase just a part of it.

Section view û hole/shaft thread overlap

Section view û hole/shaft thread overlap

In section view the threaded sections overlap between a hole and a shaft. I have made the edges hidden (the internal edge of the hole, displayed „inside” the shaft), but the two hatches are still overlapping. How to display the threaded section properly? Any workarounds? Let me know, if I’m not...
