Super Duplex (25Cr) Girth welds Charpy Test Temperature

brimstoner, metengr, Thanks for your response. Pipe is 30km...it is long (looking at 12m lengths) hence GTAW is not an option. The code of construction for Materials and Welding is DNV OS F101, which calls for Impact test at T-20 degrees C. (T is min. design temp). Design temp is -51 degrees...

Super Duplex (25Cr) Girth welds Charpy Test Temperature

Hello, Is Super duplex (S32760) girth welds be tested at -71 degrees C. The base material was tested at -71 degrees C (as per DNV OS F101) where the MDT is -51 degrees C. This is a line pipe. I know with Solution annealing (base material) can be successfully tested at -71 degrees C. Can this...

    Open Circuit potential for metals

Thanks for all the responses. TVP:- Temperature is not above ambient.. we operate in NS (Danish) so below 18C. Plymouth Tube/TVP:- I observed some crevice but also hypochlorite being circulated in regular basis. Mrinet

    Open Circuit potential for metals

Thanks for repsonses. We noticed severe corrosion (within one year) to the duplex pump which was galvanically coupled with 254SMO, medium was sea water. Since these high performance SS have very close potential difference, corrosion rate must be longer...Any idea? Steve, In sea water.

    Material Comparisons

EN 10225 S355G1+N has an Impact requirement at -20C of 50J and is a steel grade used as fixed offshore structures. You could try S355G1+M which is thermo-mechanically controlled rolled steel which has simililar properties. Most of the manuractureres can produce S355G1+M type. Where do you buy...
