I am looking for information on cutting conditions for cutting 1" thick mild steel. Is there a reference sheet for gas pressure, cutting speed, stand off and focus.
Would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Sammy,
The burrs you are getting are probably from an uncentered nozzle. If you perform a tape shot that should confirm.
As for cutting conditions, based on the information you provided, you should be using a 7.5" FL lens, and a 2.3mm nozzle.
I hope this helps.
They both work great. It can be a little tricky getting the lens installed of the EZ mount because of the o-ring. Tip, moisten your finger and rub it around the o-ring, this will help the lens slip down easier. Let me know if you hae any questions.
Also with the Black Magic lens. FYI - if you...
I have a Trumpf laser and I'm having problems cutting stainless, aluminum or anything reflective. The mirrors are buring out within hours. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for your help.
I am wondering if this laser has two lenses in the cylinder or is one a protective window? Any info on this particular laser would be helpful. THe cylinder part number is PO591-1208-00001
Thanks for your input...
I am looking for this part. Does anyone know what the part number is or where I can get it? It is for the HS95 Sensor Cone. Insulation grommet

Help please. I am having issues with a chrome coming off the tip of 2mm double nozzle. I'm cutting 0.08 stainless. Using nitrogen to cut and about every 20 hours I have to replace the nozzle. Any idea why this is happening.
Lens should be cleaned after each shift. Make sure not to touch the lens without finger cots or gloves on. The coating on the lenses is very easily scratched. Do you have a polarization filter to check for lens stress?
Good luck
You definately get a longer life out of fiber lenses than CO2. The protective window helps protect the lens and materials of fused silica verses the Zinc Selinde also extend the lens life.
Have you heard of the Mate Black Magic Lens? This is the perfect lens for cutting stainless and aluminum. Look on Ophir website for the info. Good Luck.
Lens life is very hard to judge. There are to many variables to say for sure how long a lens will last. Material, operator, environment, maintenance, time and such.
