Help with Quick Panel displaying negative values

I found the spot where I can give it a min/max value and it made no difference.

Help with Quick Panel displaying negative values

it is just a raw value. I can read it with a modbus scanner as a value of -14 but the display shows it as 0. if the value would change to a positive then the display reads it correctly. I have tried to change it to a DINT or a REAL and that did not work. There has to be something simple I am...

    Generator synchronization problem

You should be able to have two generators online with no load without tripping anything out. What kind of regulators are you using? What synchronizer and load control do you have? Make sure your voltages are spot on between the two. Even a half of volt difference on secondary could really...

    Cummins Diesel Generator

I would think it might depend on what model engine you have also. Are there any part numbers on the devices?

    Cummins Diesel Generator

What is wrong with the ones on the engine? If it is broke why not get a new one?

    GE PLC's

I work with the GE Fanuc PLCs all the time. Are you using Proficy? They just came out with a new version of the software and my company is just now starting to update to that. GE offers classes all the time for the different levels of programing. I would check into getting into one of those...

    Wireless Modbus RTU

Is there a ability to run it through a server and you could go Ethernet? I have a site that has facilities in Arizona, California and Texas and they can see all of them on one computer. I do not know the capabilities of the Honeywell controller.

    Any logical reason?

They physically swapped the control wires on the gen buss connections and CT secondary's. I verified this by the butt splices they put in because the factory wiring would not reach from C phase to A phase. They did this on the main buss sensing also. I have been working with switchgear for...

    Any logical reason?

I am modifying an existing system with updated digital controls. It consist of three generators and a master. As I began going through the old drawings to find out how to connect the old wiring to the new wiring I discovered that sometime in the past 23 years someone rolled the sensing lines...

    Power Quality Meter Location

I would install the PQ meter on the section that it is metering. It helps to avoid confusion later. I agree with DanDel that you can put them on every main and substation/distribution that you have. I you want to read them all at one central point then most PQ meters on the market now have...

Zero Current on phase 3 of Merlin Gerin Masterpact circuit breaker

What do the other two phases read? Is this a new breaker or has it been in service for a while? Has it been tested by a valid testing agency? Are you getting trips? How is the voltage? I have seen these trip units do funky things but they are rather easy to change out. As for the fingers...

    Effect of Underload to generators

I don't think there would be much of a computer on this thing. The NT 855 is old technology. After speaking with my Cummins guy he said he would recommend to keep the same intervals that is stated by the OEM. You do not need to do it but if you expect to get the maximum amount of hours from...

    Effect of Underload to generators

If they are not worried about the money then go buy a load bank. You can then load that up to 50% or so and you will not have to worry about the wet stacking. Regardless of the load you should keep the same maintenance intervals for the most part. Especially if you are in in the Middle East...

1Pole or 3 Pole DC Circuit Breaker Application

If this is for your breaker control I would recommend not grounding it. This is a VERY important DC circuit. If this is an automatic application and the last thing you want is the Charger to be shutting down on Ground Fault. I assume all your protective relays are going to be running off this...

    Paralleling MV Generators

Every MV generator system I have done has a Neutral grounding resistor for each generator and this usually goes through a disconnect switch of some sort. I would think that if you have one generator grounded and the rest are not and you have ground fault protection it might give you trips on...

    TVSS options

ASCO makes one that can be mounted in the switchboard if there is room. I included a link and it should give you all the information you need. http://www.asco.com/cgi-bin/redirect.pl?/product.html

dry transformer to convert a 4wire closed delta secondary to a 277/480

As long as it is indoors in a well air conditioned room I would think a dry type would be fine. I am not sure if you can have a 4 wire Closed Delta. It sounds like you want a Delta-Wye transformer?
