    Property Tab Builder-Custom Properties

Grunt58 Thanks! I was clicking in the GroupBox and nothing was happening, but once I clicked OUTSIDE of the Group box I saw the part/Drawing selection option. 49again I will look into it, but that program I found works perfectly for what I need.

    Property Tab Builder-Custom Properties

Thanks for the resplys. The help page doesn't help me with my particular problem, that I can see. My problem is that I cannot find out where in the Property Tab Builder to select: .prtprp for parts .asmprp for assemblies .drwprp for drawings When I create the template and do SaveAs the only...

    Property Tab Builder-Custom Properties

SWX 2010 SP0.0 1) I recently (today) learned how to use the Property Tab Builder, I have created a .prtprp file and can use it in my part files. When I go into a drawing file and hit the Custom Properties Tab, it does not give me the option to select template files that I created and used...

An Ortho from a Broken View

I have limited MDT(2004DX) experience and I am trying to work with a broken view. I finally figured out how to make the broken view but now I am stuck. 1) How to make an ortho view off of the broken view and have it broken in the same spots and inline. 2) How to add a break line symbol to the...

Internal Audit Issue....No employees left to audit!!

I think that is what we will do, the problem is that people usually don't stick around very long. So if we train someone, they are typically gone by the next audit :(

Internal Audit Issue....No employees left to audit!!

I think our best bet is doing a quick train on the IT guy. Management doesn't want to spend any money on this so messing with the docs at this point would just confuse things. Thanks for the responses.

Internal Audit Issue....No employees left to audit!!

Our processes really haven't changed, we are just not using some of them right now. We hope to get work for those groups and bring people back in the future so I don't think we want to change anything. Plus, since money has been tight I waited too long to do the internal audit and now I need...

Internal Audit Issue....No employees left to audit!!

Hello, I am hoping someone here can give me some insight into how I can handle this situation. We are an automotive engineering company. Last year we were ISO 9001:2008 certified. At that time we had over 50 employees and we had the following groups: Management Sales Recruiting Auto Group...

Best software/file type to use to make a dumb solid to scale

The STEP file worked. I made sure I checked the option 'Document Template Spedified Unit' Thanks for the help.

Best software/file type to use to make a dumb solid to scale

I will try IGESing it out and bringing it into Pro-e then bringing it back into SWX. We'll see what happens.

Best software/file type to use to make a dumb solid to scale

What file type are you able to adjust the units on when you import? If I can find that out, I can export it out into another software then export it out of the new software as that particular file type.

Best software/file type to use to make a dumb solid to scale

Yeah, I saw that in another thread and typically I might be able to use it, but not in this case. The ass'y is totally not mated and there are a ton of parts. So even if I used a sldprt of my assembly as a template to re-assemble everything, it would take forever.

Best software/file type to use to make a dumb solid to scale

The file was just sent as a Solidworks assembly, I cannot tell what the original software was. My customer got it from his customer so unfortunately by the time I would be able to get a new one, the job would already be late.

Best software/file type to use to make a dumb solid to scale

SWX 2009 My customer sent me an assembly of a pump that has many pieces that are not mated. The assembly is drawn 25.4 times too big so I need to scale it down. I saved it as a part file and inside this new part file is a bunch of solids and surfaces. I tried to use the scale command and it...

Double split on a single part

Sorry, complete operator error. I thought when you checked the boxes at the bottom is would save them to an external file. Couldn't be much easier. Thanks

Double split on a single part

Hmmm, I was trying to use the split with planes but didn't see the option of selecting which bodies to cut. Is it possible that it is a new 2008 function? or I just missed it. I tried opening the file you attached but I am still on 2007 so it won't let me.

Double split on a single part

CorBlimeyLiney I am trying to use the Split command on the features toolbar but as Dgowans pointed out, the problem is that I was trying to use planes and they are infinite so they wetn right through my top part. Dgowans I never use surfaces so I didn't think to use those. Your part is exactly...

Double split on a single part

SWX 2007 I have a rectangular part which is 1"x1"x7". Picture it standing on end, so it is 7" tall. I need to split this part twice so that it ends up in three pieces. I would like the first split to make the top a seperate body that is 1"x1"x1". I have managed to do this fine. Now I would...

    Creating Decals

The only way I know how to put a decal in the model is with Photoworks. If you have that add-in, and it is turned on, you can used the Decal option. The decal file has to be an image file such as bmp, jpg etc. So you can probably do a 'Save As' on the 2d decal file that you made, and save it...

    Creating Decals

From what I understand you have a 2d drawing of a part/machine and you need to show the decals, like warning or the customer logo, on that 2d drawing, correct? I have to put similar things on my drawings and there might be a better way, but this is how I do it: I open a fresh 2d drawing, draw...
