yes, and this particular table is a total of 450 rows, split up between 7 tables. One table is 69 rows, the other is 10, etc etc. It is a point to point wiring table. Is there any good way to get this information in to solidworks from excel without manually typing it?

Is there any way in solidworks to take the BOMs from several different sub-assemblies, including the top level assembly, and consolidate them? Some of these sub-assemblies contain the same part numbers, so I am trying to create one BOM with all necessary quantities to build said sub-assemblies...

I went ahead and did a selective load and unchecked the assembly I thought was causing the issues. once I did that it opened fine, I was then able to unhide the assembly and open the drawing fine. I still have no idea what was causing the issue. oh well, everything works now.
