Hi All,
I've used Inventor since 2010 version and created lots of Frame layouts in the Design area and never noticed this problem until now.
I create an assembly and use the 'Insert Frame' to place mainly flat bar. Sometimes I need to alter part of my design and save assemblies as R1, R2 etc...
Hi mflayler,
I'll give your suggestion a try. I never thought of sketching the logo, and being it's a simple one to do I'll try that as well.
Thanks for the tip.

Hi mcgyvr,
What I get is the 'Resolve Link' pop-up. What I've done is to paste the logo.bmp into the project folder and the drawing template opens up just fine, which indicates to me that I need to place the bmp into every project folder. I would have thought that the bmp would be located in...
Hi All,
I've now upgraded to Inventor 2016 and am looking at improving my drawing template. I want to insert a bmp image in the title block, that's OK I insert it and all looks fine. When I come to create a new drawing I get a message saying that the file cannot find my bmp logo. Where...
Hi mflayler,
Had a go using COIL and got the outcome that I wanted, thanks. A bit strange though as to why HELIX should work like it did.

Hi All,
I'm running Inventor Pro 2011 and am trying to model some Auger Drill bits, nothing really fancy at this stage. After an hour or so I finally got a sweep going over a Helix curve, the only thing is when I run SWEEP it follows the path OK but instead of going all the way up it goes half...
Hi mcgyvr,
Yes, I think I'm going to need a good deal more practice at getting it right. The ones I've come up with fall far short of what I've seen, they don't seem to have the ZIP about them, still thanks for the tip.

Hi All,
I see from various AutoCAD/Inventor publicity shots beautiful coloured glass objects that I would love to produce for some of our glass lights and rotating beacons. I've tried to produce this in my version of Inventor without success, is this something that only the newer versions...
Hi All,
Inventor 2011 Pro.
I've been playing around trying to get our company logo into the Title Block on our drawings, but no matter what I try I cannot get it to work.
Is there a way, I managed to do it in AutoCAD without any bother.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the follow up regarding the use of a USB stick. I've had it in use for approx. 18 months and not had an issue, though to err on the safe side I do an alternate backup to each computers hard drive. Now looking at the two programs you suggest, I've heard of Autodesk 360, so...
Hi mflayler,
OK, I've had a look in the options area and changed the location of my Templates and Content Center Files to look at my USB stick and it seems to work just fine. I'm always cautious about changing things like this in case I screw up and have to re-load a program and associated...
Hi mflayler,
One thing I forgot to mention before, but will probably help me, is that all my project files are kept on a memory stick so I just move it between computers. Having never worried about this in the past, I had a look at the Projects section and note in the Folder Options/Content...
Hi All,
I have my Inventor Pro 2011 loaded on two separate computers, and as far as I'm aware, identically installed.
However, when I place Nuts, Bolts etc.in an assembly on one computer, when I try to open the file on the other computer I get the 'Resolve Link' error because it cannot locate...
It gets even stranger, I've just spent the best part of three days compiling all the components and re-doing the assembly in exactly the same way as the original with not one error or unresolved issue. I then did a list of all the parts and checked it off one by one - nothing.
Maybe Inventor...
I can't understand it, all my parts begin with 2 or 3 letters followed by numbers. I was hoping that it was some sort of error code, no matter I will re-do the assembly piece by piece and see if I can track it down that way.

Hi All,
For some unknown reason in some of my assemblies I'm getting the following file - 990-20.ipt - that cannot be found. If I skip the file I get an Unresolved Assembly. I have done a complete search of every component in the assembly and cannot see it, I've even done a file search...
Hi All,
Due to a heavy work load and short lead times of late, I've not been able to keep track of some parts & assemblies. Is there a way of doing a search of a part/assembly within Inventor that can track down where these items have been used. Using the Windows search engine only locates...

Hi rollupswx,
Thanks for that.
Yes I was aware of that from my previous effort with Punches before, that's not to say I would have forgotten to add that into my sketch!!
Where I was falling over was on the Sweep. I've never used Sweep that close together, always having large arcs to work on...
