Thanks for your answers.
Kevin, yes it should rotate wherever the cursor is, but in free rotate and not in "rotate about entity mode".
Pete, tried your suggestion as well, no luck.
Moved on now (that fixeed the problem ;-)
Hi
When working with assemblies in SW 2011 my curser goes into "rotate about entity mode" whenever it is over the model and the MMB is clicked (with no entity selected). Only when the MMB is clicked and the cursor is not over the model SW lets me free rotate.
Might be only an odd setting I...
I tried mjoles way and though the single leader was horizontal/vertical when switching to linear dimension the leaders moved a couple of degrees out. Switching to different leader style helped eventually. But the "easiest" way is to use the dot above the linear dimension after it has been...
Hello,
I have got an item with a number of PCDs which I would like to dimensions horizontally above the item. Simple enough I thought, but though I can display the dimension as diameter on one leader, SW 2011 does not let me dimension them as linear dimension. Well, it does when I right click...
Yes, when a feature is suppressed it doesn't appear in the mirror feature and when when it is unsupressed it will reappear. But that doesnt happen with some of the features...
When I look in the parent/child option the mirror feature stays "connected" to the feature for the reappearing onces...
The mirror feature is not controlled by the design table because it is never surpressed. That's not the problem. When I switch configurations the unsurpressed features in that configuration should be mirrored. Unfortunately that's not the case with some of the features and I don't know why. They...
Hi
I have a part with a number of features that are controlled (supressed and unsupressed) in a design table. These features are mirrored and depending if they are suppressed or not, they are mirrored or not. But some features don't behave that way, they loose their "connection" with the mirror...
Hi Dan
I would leave the "of 2" section out as well, as blimey said.
Good to see you are enjoying a couple of different SW challenges...
Funny to have come accross your entry.

Hi
I would like to use the SW revision table in a template, but I need it to start with 0,1,2. The options only allow me to choose between alpha and numerical where the numerical starts with 1,2,3. Any ideas how to get it started with 0? (using SW2009 and would also be interested in answers...
I understand if precision in the standard would read accuracy I am ok with my steel ruler (as long as it has got the right accuracy. Will contact the standard people to clarify.
And yes, I consider using stops for better readability.
Thanks for all your input!

Yes, I agree, but why would a standard state a resolution of 0.5mm
and a precision of 0.1mm???
Tuckabag/Ninja
If the standard would ask for an accuracy of 0.1mm I would go with you, but accuracy and presicion are 2 different things.
Guess I have to find out...
Thanks for your thoughts!
So either the standard is wrong
or I need an instrument that has a resolution of 0.5mm and a precision of 0.1mm. Still not sure how that is going to work since the resolution does not allow me (or the dial) to read in 0.1mm steps, therefore my results would spread over...
Hi rb
Yes, that how I first understood it, but how can you get a precision of 0.1mm with a 0.5mm resolution? If you take the precision as 1/2 the smallest unit the best I can achive is 0.25mm. But according to the it seems possible to get a precision of 0.1mm with a 0.5mm resolution.
There are...
Yes, I understand that. But why the standard states that the instrument need to have a resolution of 0.5mm AND a precision of 0.1mm. I can't see how that is possible with any instrument, let alone the ruler.
But maybe it means they want the measured result with one decimal place???
Hi
For testing purposes I have to measure the change of a distance (about 50mm). Easy. I would like to use a steel ruler instead of a dial gauge with rod for it, but the standard I am working to says that the instrument should have a resolution of 0.5mm and a precision of 0.1mm. I can get a...
thetick, do I understand you correctly, in order to batch change the property I have to delete it and than add it again?
CorBL, the interessting links do not work properly, but I will have a look if I find something suitable
Hi
I have a number of parts that were set up with the custom property PartNo and a number of parts that were set up with the custom property Part Number.
If these parts are used in an assembly together the BOM shows only the PartNo (or Part Number depending how I set it up).
Is there a way...
I decided to go with the different templates...
But now I encountered another problem, hopefully only a setting or so I missed.
So I have got my template with sheet format saved together and it opens fine with the revision table in the right location.
Unfortunately when I add a subsequent...
