NDTMetal,
There is a dizzing array of products available to the NDT practitioner and choosing the appropriate technolgy for the task at hand can be challenging.
Digital radiography is a generic term that can be applied to all radiographic techniques using computers but is generally meant to...
Hi,
We used to do some thing similar when I worked for Glaxo-Wellcom. We made digitalis from the leaves of the Foxglove plant. I'm not a ChemE and I don't know the whole process but it involved grinding the leaves then reducing them to a syrup using HC acid. There are a number of steps...
I work in aerospace manf. and we use digital RT. There are a number of detector types available, ASe and ASi CR as well as CMOS. The choice is based on the application,operating parameters and required image parameters. While digital RT is faster and has many advantages over film. There are...
I'm not expert at this, but shouldn't he consider using dip tubes and inerting for vessle transfers or fills in addition to the other good stuff mentioned?
James01,
I used to use cobalt offshore and it was never a problem, with proper collimation and shielding it is do-able the biggest hurdle is handling as the exposure device is rather heavy and 2 find an NDT contractor with a cobalt source ` 50 ci or so.
Also Mr. Blums suggestion re leak...
quick,
Thanks for the reply I do not have just one single application but we use glass through out our plant 43 acres under roof. We are looking for a supplier who can supply beaded glass fittings (elbows, tees, etc) ball couplings and the like. If you have a catalogue that would be helpful...
Thanks G1Design;
We use beaded glass pipe for our process reactors and crytalizers in 2" and 3" diameters primarily. We need a supplier for elbows, tees, ball couplings and other similar fittings.
We also have a number of glass condensers.
If you could provide the information it...
I have an Access Database (2000) which I use to track process equipment. I have photos (400px x 300px) linked to a form in an "image control". I would like to be able to click the photo and then zoom in on the photo in order to view in greater detail. I was thinking of using a...
We have used the heirachical system of numbering on some of our systems such as:
Department,Building No,Location in Building,Major Equipment Number, Equipment Number, example;
Department = DMC
Building is =12
Location in Building=North
Major Equipment= Reactor 3
Equipment is No = T2202 (A head...
I am a project engineer in a pharmaceutical plant in NC and we use a large amount of glass pipe and fittings. We have noticed that many of the suppliers of this pipe are discontinuing production. It is getting harder and harder to find fittings, especially ball couplings but other components...

Back in one of my previous lives we developed a technique using magnetic lift-off much like that used for measuring coatings and glass liners. You also may be able to measure using eddy current.
For the UT technique if the layer is thick enough >0.060" you should be able to measure it's...
