Creating a sweep, cut along a curve WF 3.0

A trajectory for Insert -> Sweep needs a section XY orientation reference which doesn't exist as the curve is not associated with a datum plane, surface, solid face, etc. There are several ways you could get to where you want to be. Project your existing curve to the cylindrical surface...

"An object with that name already exists"

    > delete it from the assembly, delete all > associated part files from the directory The object still exists in memory / "In Session". You'll be able to see the object if you look for it; (menu:) File -> Open -> Look in: In Session. Once you (menu:) File -> Erase -> Not Displayed ... the...

    Highligth item in model tree

    > item of sub assembly will be highlight in > model tree and the model tree will be expend What (does it make a difference?) version Pro/E? Do you (does it make a difference?) have AAX? Is an "item" a component instance, part feature, assembly feature, ...? (In WF2,assuming component and no...

    Pro/E Transparency Issues

I believe there is / was a config statement graphics win32_gdi that forced software emulation of graphics functions(?). May be worth a try (or search your install & admin guide for the term to see if it's still applicable). -Jeff Howard (wf2) Sure it's true. I saw it on the internet.

Import user part parameter from external file ?

You can export parameter information (Dialog File menu). I don't know of a way to 'import parameter'. A bit of contextual information would be helpful. What, exactly, is the goal? Would it be ... (1) Create the same parameter symbolic names in parts where they don't exist? I...

Creating external reference without assembly mode

Ok. Without AAX I believe the 'in assy context' relationship is all that's going to be available to you. (I don't have AAX either and am not sure it would offer anything in this specific context.) There are various ways / strategies you ~could~ use including your first attempt. The way...

Creating external reference without assembly mode

I believe the answer(s), which I can't help you with, will be dependent on whether, or not, you have AAX. Just as a curiosity; why do you want to circumvent the typical top down design reference created in the context of an assembly? -Jeff Howard (wf2) Sure it's true. I saw it on the internet.

Help needed for ex ProE user

Help needed for ex ProE user

    Metric sizes not diameter sizes

If I were you I'd ... 1) Add a leader note that says whatever you want. 2) Sign up for some training or spend some time going thru tutorials, reading Help, searching for relevent forum discussions. I believe you'll find answers and resolution to all of your questions and concerns. (Most of...

    Metric sizes not diameter sizes

The dimension is associated with the thread diameter. You should be able to show the associated hole note which will (unless your *.hol file's been modified) list the tap drill size. -Jeff Howard (wf2) Sure it's true. I saw it on the internet.

    Replacing Missing Surfaces

    > I'd work with the source, then, and resolve ... To add to ... You might try a 'shotgun' approach: get them to send you several export variations; i.e. IGES as surfaces and solid b-reps, etc., any variation they can export. One or the other may get you a good import or the 'missing' faces may...

    Replacing Missing Surfaces

    > I am reluctant to post the actual file > because of customer confidentiality I'd work with the source, then, and resolve the export / import problems. Ten years ago this type problem was common. It's the exception to the rule today and can usually be resolved, often by correcting modeling...

    Replacing Missing Surfaces

Can you post the neutral translation that went into the Import Feature? If it was an IGES I suspect there may be some clues in it that don't show up in the picture (maybe not even in the Pro/E import). At any rate, the missing faces were most likely larger swept or revolved 'slab' faces...
