It does not work. The moving load is always vertical. Event if it worked, it doesn't solve my issue. I want to add simultaneous vertical and horizontal forces from the crane in the building and get an envelope of the acting forces.
I found another solution. I loaded every frame with vertical...
The load definitions do not disappear when you move a frame if they are assigned to the frame. Be more specific how you move it.
Anyway I prefer using replicate option instead, because you can choose which assignments to copy.
There is another approach. You can only leave one diagonal of the X-bracing and design only for the tension force. In that way you will have correct values for the members that are connected to the diagonal (column base, footing, etc.).
To design the column and its base on the other side of the...
I'm pretty sure, that when you use SAP2000 for automatic combinations, it doesn't combine loads of one type (for example different WIND loads defined in Load Patterns).
In fact I don't use this function at all, because in v.14 it doesn't combine SNOW loads acc. to Eurocode.
Well that's the most obvious way. I figured it out myself.
I was just wondering, why there is no function to make influence lines for horizontal forces in SAP2000.
Hi, all
I am designing a warehouse with overhead crane.
I want to add the loads from the crane as moving loads with influence lines. The problem is that I can't see option to add horizontal forces in the vehicle definition, nor in the load case definition. Is there any option to define...
Hi all,
I am modeling a foundation slab on area springs. The thickness of the slab is 1.2m. I use a mesh size of approximately 0.5m.
Is there any limits for minimum mesh size dependent to the slab thickness when the supports are springs?
I know that for a floor slab the results are adequate...
