Good Morning,

I have an FDA application. A heater element that reaches 1,600 deg f. located 4" above the a 303/304 Stainless Steel belt. I need a wear rail for the belt that won't melt. We are leaning toward a non-metalic component so we dont get micro-particles from metal on metal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

We tried a test yesterday afternoon but blew the circuit after 5 min. We are trying again today.

I assumed 1,200 f as the elements are generating 1,500 to 1,600 f at 4" away.

I was starting to look at ceramics last night. I have no experience with them. I know they will handle the heat but do not know if there are FDA rated ceramics. I'll investigate today.
Thanks for the help,
Dan

If they have ceramics rated to be used as medical implants, I see no reason why you can't find a suitable one for this. Sorry, but I cannot offer a suggestion...
