I used to own a 1985 Honda Goldwing with this type of system. The foot brake applies the rear caliper and the front right caliper. The Front brake lever only applies to the front left caliper.
Has anyone tryed this with a Concours?

If you want front brake, hit the front brake, if you want back brake, hit the back brake. Linked brakes seem like a complicated solution to a problem that can be solved by squeezing the right lever a little harder.

Motoguzzi was the first m/c manufacturer to come out with this linked brake system, if I recall. Like R1100RS, I have yet to see the need.

Got a date for that ? 'First' is always a big call!

I have this funny feeling that I should have said, "first linked HYDRAULIC brakes".

Yep, just found the 1930 Matchless Silver Arrow! Linked f/r mechanical brakes!

(Grins), yes, it is such an obvious idea that I guessed somebody would have tried it back when there were genuine innovations in automotive technology, rather than the endless recycling and fine tuning we do today.
