Weld between 31254 tube and 31254 tube sheet (strength weld) is planned.

As per available back ups Inconel filler wires are suggested.

Can i simply procure 31254 wire and use it as a filler wire?

My Engineering personnel (and me too) have used only Inconel in the past, hence am checking whether there are any pit falls.
One other alternative was to go for expanded joint (With 2 grooves 7-3-6-3 pattern (Instead of welded joint), but in this our design personnel is asking for a mock up test for establishing Fr (Although he has used " No test values" in his design) since he feels that the hardness and the yield of the tube and tube sheets are identical and hence he needs to be sure on the joint.

My question is: Has some one done full expanded tube to tube sheet joint with out welding for 31254 material.

Application: Off shore sour Hydrocarbon on the carbon steel shell side and Sea water on Tube side.

No, not for pressure vessel fabrication under ASME B&PV Code.

bmoorty,
You don't really believe that you cannot build your exchanger only because ASME BPV is obsolete and unable to list a common material, even in USA, do you? Tell anyone trying to stop you, to read UG-9 and UG-10.

If the vessel is going to Alberta there is no point trying to get the design approved without a code case. If it is not an accepted material for use within the code there is no point attempting the approval process.

If it can be recertified to meet an accptable specification is a different matter.
