Hokie: "What "you folks" don't understand is hyperbole."

What does an unusually active tree have to do with it? Curious mimes want to know.

dik,
Are you typing on your cell phone again? I can't make heads or tails of your question, or why mimes are involved.

dik,

I think it's always trying to branch out...

Trump overheard saying, "Don't confuse me with the facts!"

Good Luck,

Hokie: " I can't make heads or tails of your question, or why mimes are involved."

It had to do with the definitions of hyper and bole. Mac, got it...

First we built a wall on the border, now we're miming it? Yikes.

I'm waiting for the next headline:
THIS JUST IN.
THERE ARE REPORTS THAT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ARE FLOODING THROUGH THE WALL
THEY ARE ENTERING TROUGH OPENINGS INTENDED TO RELIEVE FLOODING PRESSURE

Trump's people probably told him that none of these news reports are being printed in Spanish, so we're still safe.

The wall between east and west germany was porous like a sieve.

And that was 3.6 meters high solid concrete.... 500m of killing zone and towers ever 1000m with snipers in them.....

A certain country is building a 8m high wall out of solid concrete with again towers within sniping range.

That contraption wouldn't stop a pregnant cow getting into the US.

Measures taken against the growers who hire the illegals would probably be more productive.
However such measures may inhibit campaign contributions.
The construction of the wall, on the other hand, will probably develop new sources of campaign contributions.

Wow! Now Trump's getting blamed for substandard work by an incompetent contractor that I'm sure he's never heard of and certainly didn't hire. The desperation of some people gets more entertaining by the day.

Well, at least nobody's blaming him for Iran shooting down that Ukrainian airliner...oh wait, never mind.

I assume you're referring to the Berlin Wall (which separated East and West Berlin, not East and West Germany). It's a tad different building a wall to try to keep a captive population in vs. trying to keep usurpers out. In Berlin, someone trying to escape the communists would have to get by the soldiers ready to shoot on sight, just to get to the wall, and then try climb it under fire. There was very little chance of success, and the consequences of failure were usually fatal. There's a lot more people willing to try crossing the US border, when the consequences of failure are minimal (oftentimes more comfortable than the conditions they came from).

The Wall was Trump's signature campaign promise. Literally going South. It's like we aren't in Kansas anymore.

Well, he very well might have heard of them:

Did the Pentagon Really Just Award a $400 Million Contract to a Guy Trump Liked on Fox News?

[pre]The Washington Post reported Monday night that the Pentagon had awarded a $400 million border wall contract to a North Dakota company named
Fisher Sand and Gravel. That contract, to build a segment of the wall across a wildlife refuge in Yuma County, Arizona, raised some eyebrows.
According to the Post:

Trump has repeatedly pushed for Fisher to get a wall-building contract, urging officials with the Army Corps of Engineers to pick the
firm—only to be told that Fisher’s bids did not meet standards. Trump’s entreaties on behalf of the company have concerned some officials
who are unaccustomed to a president getting personally involved in the intricacies of government contracting.

This isn’t the way it normally goes, but President Trump isn’t one to have his plans vetted by ethics watchdogs.

A segment of President Donald Trump’s signature border wall fell in California...No one was injured in the incident at Calexico, California, about 100 miles east of San Diego.

I haven't found the name of the contractor for the damaged section, but it apparently wasn't Fisher.

Anyway, Trump was probably pushing for Fisher to get the contract for the whole job (700 miles) because they offered to contract construction of a full border protection system for 2/3 of the governments estimate of $18 billion ($400 million doesn't seem like all that much, compared to $12 or $18 billion, does it?)

The flood openings are really cleverly disguised Guillotines. [banghead]
