Hello,I am using Solidworks 2003 pro, and have designed a 4 link rear suspension system for a HPI Micro RS4 Radio Controlled car, I have used the correct mates for the links, have built a proto-type, and (it works) but I cannot seem to animate the articulation of the suspension. My computer BOGS way down and won't even let me dynamically move suspension components. I am using a 3 Ghz hyperthreading CPU win XP PRO Fire GL 8800 Graphics card.
I really liked the animation example of the snow ski suspension on solidworks website, and am trying to go for the same look in the animation, (fluid movement) anybody else have success doing something similar?

"I see " said the blind carpenter as he picked up his hammer and saw.

Recommended for you

How much RAM you running?

Is the suspension in separate sub-assemblies? If so, how do you have them setup - Both flexible or one rigid and one flexible?

Make sure your using the Recommended driver from the SW website.

Let us know.

I am using 2.5Gb of memmory, my system has screamin performance, even with 600 piece assemblies, it just bogs down when I try and move the "rear end".
I built up the suspension components inside 1 assembly file so all the mates would allow the pivot balls to rotate and the links to be constrained. everything is flexible

is there anyway to post a pic on this forum?

Our VAR has a great model of a similar RC vehicle that they built and works great - I'll see if I can pick their brains for you.

3/4 of all the Spam produced goes to Hawaii - shame that's not true of SPAM also.......

Thank you JNR, I would be willing to send my assembly also. it really is simple, I'm not sure what it could be
