5.6 quake in San Fran

Here's the map of where its epicenter was:

 
East of the San Andreas Fault. Interesting.

Been following the quakes recently, and they seem to be progressing counterclockwise from Indonensia, like the strain is progressively shifting around the Pacific Rim.

I know that a geotech will tell you these particular earthquakes are not related, but, since everything breaks down to energy, I'm not so sure. I expect a large quake in my area soon. It only makes sense to me.

Your area is the Seattle area, correct? I remember my structures professor was wary of some of the Seattle downtown structures related to seismic resistance (this was in 1992). He basically said, "When the big one comes, don't be downtown."
 
Yes, and they were talking of 10 feet of glass in the street in the main downtown area. Not very healthy.
