Hi,
I would like to connect power to a 555 chip and have the output light up, a led, once for about 3 seconds then go of, then light up again, for three seconds and go of again, but this time stay off.
I dont know much about electronics, im only learning, but i can make a simple timing circuit, but not sure how to stop the cycle after those few blinks.
If you could discribe some way how i can do this, it would be fantastic.
Thanks

Go to the National Semiconductor web site. Search for the LM555. They have techsheets and example circuits that may do exactly what you're looking for.

You and Dino in the same class?? Two 555 questions for the same task the same day...

Thanks for the replys

Since you understand the 555:
take a second 555 with an interval that is two pulses long,
use the second 555 to disable the first 555
or logic gates....
