On a project that is mostly 12" CMU with some 8" would you think it normal to only submit the ASTM C140 test results for the 8" and not the 12" block? The manufacturer is essentially using an extrapolation argument.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Two separate 'critters' and likely used for two different purposes... and if mostly 12" then submit 12", since they would likely be the most critical.

Rather than think climate change and the corona virus as science, think of it as the wrath of God. Feel any better?

It is both block but the manufacturer is insisting on just giving us a test report for the 8" and that "no one" tests 12" block. In my mind there should be a submission/test for both.

I didn't know that... maybe someone on forum can confirm. I know from years back that testing of groutfilled 12" CMUs wasn't done because of the huge loads involved.
