Hello Everybody,
I am a new user of Abaqus and I'm working on version 6.12 and windows 10.
I am only starting with simple tutorials available on youtube. The software works perfectly fine and then suddenly becomes veeeery slow. The last 2 times this happened the software regained its speed suddenly olso and with no apparent reasons (for me).
I checked the "windows update" solution but it doesn't work since I already paused the updates since the last time, and now I was working when suddenly the same happened and it became extremely slow and taking much time in doing very simple orders like selecting a face for example.
Any help plz!!

Did you try restarting your computer ? I know that this sounds too simple but actually helps in many cases of Abaqus/CAE performance issues. That’s because some temporary data accumulated when the machine is on for a long time may slow down the software.

If this doesn’t work then it may be that such old version of Abaqus has compatibility issues with your computer. In such case start from installing graphic card drivers.

Given the intermittent nature to performance hits, I wonder if you have a graphics card that is incompatible with 6.12. Can you try using 6.12 on an older piece of hardware? Alternatively, can you try using 6.14 or above on the hardware you are currently using?

Thank you guys for the quick response :)
Yes I tried restarting the computer several times but no change..
Actually I'm working on windows installed on macbook pro via bootcamp, So I'll try for installing another version of abaqus and see..

Thanks once again :)
I'll keep you updated

Ah! It is likely that the container (bootcamp, in this case) is the potential source of hiccups. I have yet to find a container that works as well as the native OS for a variety of applications.

Try to manually download from website and upgrade your graphic card's drivers. It helped me.
