Hello,
I have a problem considering Abaqus job running. I have been using Abaqus now for two months and I had no such problem. It happened this morning when I started a job and afterwards terminated it. In fact, I juct clicked "Kill" but nothing happened. Therefore I deleted this job and made another one but the new just won't start running. It is just "submitted".
I know that such problems have already been reported on this forum it just seems that nobody has found the right solution yet. Therefore, is there is someone who knows hov to fix the problem, I would be very glad if he who could write it here.
PS:I use ABAQUS 6.10. I have already tried to do reinstall.
Thanks
Blaž

When this happens to me I've just had to kill the "Standard.exe" process. But it would be more thorough to kill "java.exe" and "Python.exe" as well.

But reinstalling should have fixed it, whatever it is. Unless it is a problem with your license server.

I'm assuming that you restarted your computer as well.

Yes, I have restarted my computer.
The funny thing is, that I've now install the 6.8-1 version and the problem persists. So it has to be sth about my computer.

Are you sure you've enough free license tokens to run the job?

Yes. 98 of 99. Plus the model runs on another computer with the same installation version.

Now I realized that Abaqus is in fact calculating but it just doesn't show anything. Strange...

changing working directory should solve problem.

At this stage it might be worth getting in touch with Abaqus support. Like you say your jobs probably are still running etc. (you can check by looking in the relevant STA and LOG files).

I have come across some problems like this before but don't know reasons behind them...I remember once that turning off my wireless adapter fixed it for example...no idea why.

I can't believe this. I turned off my wireless adapter and it started to work. Thank you MechIrl, you are the best! :D This was more than a one week problem :D

great! definitely one of the stranger Abaqus bugs I've come across!
