Good day all

The client is insisting is to use ACI 318-19 for one of our projects with IBC
ACI 318-19 is referenced in IBC 2021 only and the same is not yet released
can I explain to the client that I cannot use ACI 318-19 until itz referenced code is not released

A scan of the document linked below suggests that most changes are conservative. In any case, you can probably comply with both codes, ie I don't expect outright conflicts, just one is more conservative than the other. Up to you how to handle this with your client, but IBC doesn't prohibit you complying with ACI 318-19.

Certainly you can comply with both codes. This sort of thing is not an uncommon request in some locations.... Like Chille for instance. It's a little unusual for US projects.

You might add a note to your calculation package that you are demonstrating compliance with BOTH versions of the ACI code. Just to prevent the plan checker from getting confused.

Thank you all-The usage if ACI 318-19 will change all my seismic paramters and models and hence was ideally looking for a loop hole for not using ACI 318-19 at this stage
