I am in textile industry. My Air Conditioning system consist of Air Washer. Anyone have the calculation of Air Washer's Efficiency? Or how to calculate the eff?

Thanks

Air Washer Fundamentals

Air drawn through a mist caused by spray nozzles and then through eliminators to remove dust and particles of water not evaporated in the air.

Air is drawn through a mist caused by spray nozzles and then through eliminators to remove dust and particles of water not evaporated in the air.
The water for the spray nozzles are recirculated by a pump.
A tempering heater is usually installed before the washer. A reheating battery after.

General
Cleaning efficiency 70% of fine dust, 80% of coarse dirt

Air velocity through the washer 2-3 m/s

Resistance 50-140 N/m2

Water pressure for nozzles 100-170 kN/m2

Water quantity 0,45-0,55 l/m3 air

Humidifying efficiency
E = (t1-t2)/(t1-tw)x100%

where

E = Humidifying efficiency %
t1 = initial dry bulb temperature
t2 = final dry bulb temperature
tw = initial wet bulb temperature

Typical efficiencies
60-70 % with one bank of nozzles downstream
65-75 % with one bank of nozzles upstream
85-100 % with two banks of nozzles

Make sure you avoid Legionaire's Disease by putting a recirculating pump with cartridge filter & UV light sterilizer in the piping, recirculating the sump water. Also have the water treatment contractor treat the sump water with biocide.
