alternative for Flattening test for LTCS pipe

Dear All,

We are facing one problem for Flattening test of one LTCS Pipe.


For Pipe Size 18” x Sch.160 (45.24 mm Thk) – Flattening test result not satisfactory because UTS machine capacity could not achieved the flattening height as per requirement. Obtained Flattening Height – 330 mm (Req. 286.44 mm)


Kindly advice alternative for the following.. Experts kindly share your opinions.

Find a larger hydraulic press.
I have seen people cut these pipes into sections and bend them separately instead of as a whole pipe.
