Alumina - Optimum contact material for low friction

I have an alumina datum bar on which a carriage slides. The carriage incorporates pads which slide on the alumina surface.

I am looking to improve the material choice of the pads to give the "better" low friction/low wear combination.

Any hard evidence would be ideal as time for testing is limited.

Current pad material is Delrin.

IMHO saying "Alumina" is somewhat like saying "steel". Lots of kinds of alumina in the world.

The Alumina spec is "Deranox 975"

I am based in the UK and not familiar with COORS.

Tom is no doubt referring to CoorsTek. I have the tiniest exposure to them because they were manufacturing a ceramic/ceramic cervical disc replacement my previous employer was selling. Unfortunately, I don't have any contact info, but here is their contact page:
