I'm an old operator of a plasma machine and I just changed my seat for the seat of our newest machine. A fiber laser 2kw ermaksan. Well I'm a newbie on the laser. What a world of difference. First I love laser way to think, I feel useful and use my brain to obtain the result. I'm crazy about laser....but still a newbie. I just found your site, thanks ..thanks ...thanks. I read a lot of your comments and felt I could get a lot of help here. Sorry for my mistaken words....I'm a french frog from Quebec.
Now my main problem is on almost all kinds of materiels but focusing on 11 ga and 7 ga stainless (200 series). I'm still trying to understand my parameters to adjust...power, pressure , focal....etc...The thing is now I can't try almost anymore my learning because after a foot the laser don't go throught the materiel. I slow down the feedrate and do the same thing, When it's cold the first piece with the power 1750 is not too bad but if I let go more piece the dross appear heavier and heavier and bang no cut. Sparks blue everywhere . We just change the focal lens last week (first I though I was 200$ but later my boss came and said to me you better learn fast because $2000 every week is not good). Well the $200 was the shipping. Wo ho ho...I need your help. What can stress a lens if it's the lens? Can it be something else?
