Hello everyone,

In ASME Y14.4M-1989 "Pictorial Drawings" I need to know what the standard is for assembly layouts. My question is if I show an exploded front isometric view on 1/2 of sheet1 and a reverse isometric view on the other half, do I need to use a view line to show how I derived the view? I guess what I am asking is do we have to follow ASME Y13.3M-1994 convention on assembly/critical feature drawings?

Thanks.

Matt B.

As far as I know, I think if you write "Isometric" below the views, you will be fine.
FYI, you should be following ASME Y14.4M-1994

ctopher,
My standard says ASME Y14.5M-1994, am I missing something?

I apologize, I miss-read. I thought I was looking at ASME Y14.5M-1989. You are right. That's what happens when I read too fast.
