What is the best tool to analyze the min. or max. thickness of a part in V5. Which workbench is ideal for this type of work.

thanks

Hi m1mason, unfortunately as far as I know CATIA doesn't natively support thickness analysis. You can verify a local thickness with the measure tools and the DMU Analysis workbench, but beyond that you are on you own. There are a couple of other software solutions that permit you to do this, but not CATIA by itself.

That's what I thought. Just wanted to verify it with those who have done more research. I thought The Shell Property would do it from the Functional Molded Part workbench, but I was wrong. THX

I actually saw something on the ECF that could be of interest "wall thickness analysis" running on R18. Showing the thickness with coloring and/or with a sphere.

It was a R18 tool, but it could be under development, if so then you need to contact your DS reprentative and ask to join the evaluation.
