Mechanical

I have part with 2 different points in it that follow 2 different paths. Both paths are the same length and never get close to being farther apart then the 2 point. I have 1 planar joint and 2 point-curve joints created with the front point being length driven. CATIA says my mechanism can be simulated, but when I try to, it locks up. I've deleted the mechanism and started over, with the same results.

Any ideas?

is your system planar ? like a train on straight railroad ?

Yes. Like a train traveling due eest going down a hill with a few flats.

how is your planar joint defined ?

My planar joint is bewteen the XZ planes of a fix CATPart (my paths) and the moving part.

I think I have figured it out. Seems the curves I was using my paths must of had some problems in how they were created. I've recreated those and have gotten it to work. But now I have something else to figure out.

Basically what I have is a tool that carries a car and sets it on the wheels on the floor that is moving the same speed. Show I need to show the interface where the carier peals away from the tool. Both travel at the same speed. That is my problem, my tool seems to travel slower then my product. Is there a way to tell each mechanism to move at a cetain speed rather then time/distance?

Does any of that make sense?

well speed is a ratio of distance and time...

when you do a sequence you can define synchronisation with more accruacy.

Ahev you think about using DMU and tracks... ?
