We are considering buying staad foundation. We do a lot of combined footings and mats, as well as pile caps. It looks great. Just wondering how other users like it, after using it a while.

Thanks

The results are Ok at best. If you are using staad pro and intends to import staad file in staad foundation than this is the software to use other wise there are a lot better software than this say: AFES, plaxis etc.

For combine footings and mats CSI Safe is also a good choice.

But than again every software have its limitations, pro and Cons. Look for what suits you best for the given requirements.

We have used staad foundation from it's early versions. to be honest early versions results were ok for combined footings and pilecaps but mat foundation is phenomenal.

i have also used safe for mats, personally i'll place staad found above safe for mats.

now, i am pretty impressed by the new version they have come up with. it has fancy detail drawings and calc sheets which are totally time saving as u dont have to draw a sketch for drafter or compile the program results...

We just obtained the program. I ran a simple pile cap design and it selected the wrong load case to check shear in the pile cap. Load Case 1 DL Fy=-21.5k Load Case 2 DL+LL Fy=-72k. The program selected Load Case 1. I have sent an email to support@bentley but have not received a response.

i'm using staadfoundation for many years, mainly for high-rise structures.
in my opinion for mat calculation it's very good soft.
