AODD Max Discharge Pressure?

Hi guys. Dumb question: The maximum discharge pressure that can be developed by an AODD pump is only what is available from the motive air supply - correct? In other words, if I have 100 psig air available, the best I can possibly get out of the pump is 100 psig discharge, and likely a little less when accounting for the losses here and there.

Is there any way to get more than that out of an AODD? I need to discharge at about 150 psig or so.

There are apparently "force multiplier" type AODDs on the market, which have a different (smaller) active area on the process side of the diaphragm than on the air side. These can develop 2x or even 4x the air supply pressure. Never bought one though, so you're on your own as to whether they're the right tool for the job.

There are piston-coupled rather than diaphragm-coupled units sold by people like Haskell which can give very much larger multipiers of the air pressure. We use units like this as hydrotest pumps to 10,000 psig.

There are some high performance models such as the DEPA that can do 3.5X the air pressure.
