API 610 Vertical In-line pump nozzle loads?

Appendix F talks about acceptable nozzle loads when a vertical in-line pump is "supported only by the piping". What about when the pump is bolted to a skid, as when it is a part of packaged equipment. What criteria should be used to evaluate the pipe loads? is it reasonable to use the suction nozzle loads listed in table 2?

Without talking to your manufacturer you shouldn't use more than 50 lbs or so.

With pump base plates and anchor bolts, model your pump from the base plate up to include pump displacement when at operating temperature and calculate the loads on the pipe using those same displacements measured from the base plate.

Learn from the mistakes of others. You don't have time to make them all yourself.
