Are we about to get a repeat of the 2021 power crisis in Texas... 1

Its on copper pipe and in the kitchen exposed to UFH warm floor under the sink.

Its been in for getting on for 4 years now.

Most Frostproof Silcock failures that I have seen were when people left a hose connected and this prevented full draining.
You also have to make sure that they are long enough to reach a warmer location.
I have one in my garage that is for hot and cold water, it is both shutoff and mixing.
And a few of the regular ones on the other outdoor faucets.
We just came off of 4 days with a high temp of 0F (-18C), though the low was only -12F (-24C).

Mine goes through 500mm of log wall.

I also have hot and cold outside and it is the best thing ever.... Everyone though i was strange doing it. But the hot tap gets used all the time.

Utterly brilliant for making cement up below 5 degs C

Vapour barriers should go on the warmer side of the insulation,right?
I have seen walk-in coolers with the vapour barrier on the inside, as if it were a house or out-building.
The inside of a walk-in cooler is the cool side, not the hot side.
The insulation tends to get wet and soggy,or freeze in the case of walk-in freezers.
A challenge;
A small building for a walk-in freezer and a small office.
Two walls of the freezer are outside walls.
In the summer, the outside is the warm side.
Last week we had minus 40 temps (Not sure if it was F or C, grin)
Now the inside was the warm side.
I asked a savvy old building inspector which side to put the vapour barrier.
His andwer;
Use close fitting sealed cell rigid foam insulation.

Ohm's law
Not just a good idea;
It's the LAW!

That closed cell insulation is causing major issues in the UK.

Mortgage companies are refusing to give a mortgage if it's in the roof.

More I research, the more I read the more I strongly believe the only way to insulate a roof is by having an air gap between the roof and the insulation. Any method of putting insulation directly under the roof sheeting will fail.

You must follow the same procedures pipeliners follow to prevent corrosion under insulation. Vapor retarder is going to come up. The biggest trouble is when the roof itself forms a leak. Having a watertight barrier in contact with the roof hides the problem until it becomes catastrophic. Wood and metal roofs have very different requirements.

That's why I didn't put the inner vapour barrier behind the wood panels.

I have forced ventilation in the peaks of the gabel with humidistat.

To be honest with the main house it's low humidity internally during winter that's the problem.

Gas fired stoves are great for humidifying you home. It's too bad many want to see them banned.

Dryers vented inside are better for humidifying the home, unless they are gas fired dryers that can carbon-monoxide the home occupants.

It's all part of their carbon footprint and the use of fossil fuels. They maybe go the way of the dinosaurs, tug.

we just don't have gas.

wood fires yes.

I have a plumbed in humidifier that deals with things when I am not here.

Not all natural gas is a fossil fuel. There are a few, including the one I work for that produce non-fossil natural gas. And they can get a higher price for it, just for being green.

There are also outdoor water faucets that use the ground heat, and drain back under ground.
I also found that heated water hoses are available, if you really need to water something in the winter.

Dik. I caught that :)
