Hi Guys,

I recently starting using NX again at work (NX 12) and I was wondering if there is a setting somewhere where I could set the diameter dimensions in my drawings to always be "Arrow Out Diameters" as shown in the attached picture. I've been having to change each one I put in and would appreciate if there was a solution for this.

Thanks,
Chris

Hello, capaul. If I've got it right you are about to change the default orientation of the dimension arrows. You should configure the corresponding option in your drafting standard. Proceed to the Utilities -> Customer Defaults -> Drafting -> General/Setup -> Customize Standard, then Common -> Line/Arrow, on the tab Arrowhead, change the option Orientation for both arrows. You may have to apply this configured standard, or even restart NX for these changes to be applied.

If you use a template for your drawings, you will want to open the template(s) and make the change at the file level (in preferences -> drafting). If you have already changed the customer defaults, you can inherit the customer default settings in your template(s).

Hi again guys,
I know how to change the default settings of the arrows on dimensions. However, this diameter is a different setting, I believe, if you look at my photo attached. An arrow out diameter dimension will still have two arrows, when you click the button I showed in my attachment, they call it an "Arrows Out Diameter: show dimension with one arrow to arc geometry".

Thanks,
Chris

This frustrates me too, it seems to me like NX is copying CREO on their poor methods. Why they do that is beyond me. NX should have kept the hole dimension.
