Hi all,

Regarding the new concrete structures code, can anyone guide me towards resources that can help me understand what is happening with the shear calculations. I know how to use them but I don't fully understand the mathematics behind them (for example what is the kv value exactly and where does it come from?). Is there any research articles that I can read that can help show me how the formulas are derived and the principals behind them?

The basis of shear for the new code is the Modified Compression Field Theory (MCFT). The implementation in AS3600 is quite similar to the one in the Canadian Standard (A23.3).
