Hi all,

I am studying about performance analysis, and confused a point about ASCE 41-17 steel column hinge properties.

When I calculate the yield rotation according to Eq. 9-2, I obtain 0.00776 but SAP2000 show 0.006378 (L=3 m; HEB400; S355).
The interaction curve definitions (P, M3 etc.) are same with my calculations. But only I got truble with yield rotation.

I also check the yield rotation for beam and vertical braces and they match with my hand calculation. So I got only problem with column yield rotation.

Do you have any numerical investigation or paper I can study/examine?

I found the reason, problem is SAP2000 take the effective shear area from weak axis. And its database got differences from EU Shear Area (Avz) values.

And also; SAP2000 take the radius of gyration from strong axis. why it is I don't know

Is anybody know that issue or did you check which one is correct?
