Good day.
First off, sorry if this question might come off as very basic as I have mostly worked with a different structural code.
My concern is regarding the definition of "L" in ASCE 7-16 Figure 27.3-7 (see attached). The notation guide below the diagram states that L is the "Horizontal dimension of roof, measured in the along-wind direction, ft (m)". This appears to be in contrary with the diagram wherein L is measured along the edge normal to the wind direction.
Can anyone with expertise in American codes clarify the definition of L? Thanks in advance.
